What are the benefits of buying a tomtom 910 instead of the 710? I’ve searched online but would appreciate some clear advice in english instead of in techie jargon.

I can not seem to find this answer anywhere.
I know with garmin and Magellan you have to pay for map updates.
Is it that you have to pay for updates with TomTom and then the mapshare makes minor corrections from users?

I bought a used GPS tomtom one from my friend but i am not sure how to tell if it is a 3rd generation, second generation, or any other type? Is there a way to tell because the under side just says one.

I asked TomTom support 3 weeks ago and am still waiting for a response. I have TomTom Navigator 5 maps on CD and I need to know which files to copy where on my TomTom One as it no longer detects the maps installed on it and didn’t come with any on the CD that came with it. It stopped detecting the maps after upgrading the firmware using TomTom Home.

I wanna buy the tomtom and i just want a simple one that can get me around and i wanted to know what the diference was between the tomtom one 125 and the tomtom one 3rd generation. They are both the same price too. the only diference i see is the shape. please help. thank you.

I have a Magellan Roadmate 1200 GPS that has a 1 gig SD card with a US map on it. I’m going to Germany next month, does anyone offer a Europe SD map for my GPS?

I recently purchased a Magellan Roadmate 1412 GPS. This is first GPS of this brand that I’ve gotten. Apparently the maps are stored on an SD card. Does Magellan provide updates for their GPSes? If so, does it usually mean buying a new SD card with updated maps on it?

I’m considering buying a Garmin c340 navigation system, as I will be spending a lot of time tooling around the Austin area, which I am not terribly familiar with. How well does this unit work? Is there a better unit for a comperable price? And as far a GPS technology is concerned, do the roadways stay updated, as far as recognizing newly constructed roads, or roads that are closed?
