If I Purchase A Tomtom Gps That Come With Mapshare, Do I Ever Have To Purchase A Map Upgrade?

I can not seem to find this answer anywhere.
I know with garmin and Magellan you have to pay for map updates.
Is it that you have to pay for updates with TomTom and then the mapshare makes minor corrections from users?
yes you do have to purchase the updates.
